Connors campaigns on building strong communities

CUMBERLAND - Senator Daniel P. Connors, Democrat incumbent in Senate District 19, said, "In standing for re-election, I'm campaigning on my record on the issues and my record of fighting for change. I have fought for protections for our community and I look forward to continuing that fight."

Connors highlighted his "no" vote on 24-hour gambling. "I voted no on a bill that would permit around-the-clock weekend and holiday gambling in Lincoln. This vote shows my support for our community and demonstrates my independence at the Statehouse."

Connors also noted passage of a law that will protect all Rhode Island communities, "In response to a failure by government, I won passage of a law that requires the state to complete its sex offender classification process before offenders are released. Because of this new law, police will be able to notify the community at the time an offender is released. My leadership on this issue is an example of my responsiveness and effectiveness," explained Connors.

Connors also highlighted direct financial support he's obtained for organizations in our community, including the Lincoln Public Library, the Cumberland Public Library, and the Boys & Girls Club of Cumberland-Lincoln.
